The Solstice Threshold

Welcome to the Solstice.

This is an invitation to pause — to honor the shortest hours of light in the Northern Hemisphere and the longest stretch of light in the Southern Hemisphere. Wherever you are on the planet, this is a moment of balance, stillness, and transition.
A pause between chapters.

As we enter Capricorn season, we do so with deep respect. To commune with Capricorn is also to commune with its planetary ruler, Saturn — the Lord of Time, karma, boundaries, and wisdom earned through the earthly experience. This is not a frivolous energy. It’s ancient. It asks for presence, patience, and accountability.

It makes sense that this point in the year invites us to look backward and assess where we’ve been, what we’ve built, what has endured, and what has fallen away over the last twelve months. Capricorn encourages reflection not as judgment, but as discernment, so that we can meet the coming year with clarity and intention.

And yet, as any astrologer will tell you, this is not the true energetic beginning of the year.

Capricorn season bridges December and January, standing between past and future — gazing both backward and forward at once. This is a liminal space. A threshold. And even though Capricorn is a cardinal sign, it does not grant us permission to rush ahead blindly.

Whether you are slowed by winter’s cold or summer’s heat, you are slowed here — intentionally. This season asks you to take stock of your surroundings, to locate yourself in time and space, and to feel the ground beneath your feet before taking your next step.

Capricorn, the ancient Sea Goat, meets us at this crossing — half mountain goat, half oceanic being. One part disciplined, determined, and resilient; the other carrying the memory of deep waters, intuition, and ancestral wisdom. It reminds us that there is no mountain too high to climb and no ocean too deep to explore when we move with self-trust and steady will.

This is the magic of Capricorn season: the ability to bring the contents of your inner world into form. To translate imagination into manifestation, not through force, but through devotion.

Not hustle.
Not urgency.
But devotion.

Devotion to your path.
Devotion to what you are shaping over time.
Devotion to who you are becoming.

Because Capricorn is less concerned with quick wins and more interested in legacy. It asks us not just what do you want? — but who are you becoming through what you commit to?

Not next week.
Not overnight.
But through the choices you make consistently.

Through what you say yes to — and what you finally say no to?
Through the structures you are building in your life, your work, your relationships, and your inner world?

In the coming days, as Venus and Mercury join the Sun and Mars in Capricorn, this question becomes more embodied. Our desires sharpen. Our conversations turn practical. Our actions begin to align with the long-term vision. Still, Capricorn reminds us: go slow. Build wisely. Let time work with you, not against you.

Time isn’t just of the essence — time is the essence. Hello, Saturn ;)

You don’t need to rush toward your future. Your future will rise up to meet you when the hour is right. For now, tend the foundations.

This Solstice marks a quiet architectural moment. The blueprint of your future is being drafted now — not in grand gestures, but in deliberate choices, written intentions, and sacred commitments.

So write it down.
Clarify what you are willing to build and who you are eager to become in the process.

Capricorn walks with us as we close one year and prepare for the next — steady, discerning, patient — reminding us that lasting fulfillment is rooted in integrity, timing, and trust in the long view.

And if you feel called to take this reflection deeper — to move from intention into conscious planning — I want to invite you to join me for my Planning Your Year Ahead with Astrology workshop on January 8th.

This is a space where we’ll work with the major astrological themes of the year ahead and translate them into grounded, supportive guidance for your life — your rhythms, your goals, your becoming. We’ll look at timing, cycles, and how to work with the energy of the year rather than pushing against it.

You’re welcome to join in person (in the Denver area) or virtually, wherever you are.

If this Solstice has stirred something in you — a desire to build with intention, clarity, and alignment — this workshop is a beautiful next step.

You can find all the details and reserve your spot here

Happy Solstice, beautiful souls.
May your becoming be intentional, grounded, and guided by the deeper rhythm of the cosmos.
